Our Story

The best love stories are worth waiting for. Welcome to ours.

If you'd asked either of us before we met whether we were looking for the love of our lives, the answer would have been no.

We were both simply hoping to meet someone interesting to spend time with, so when we matched on Facebook Dating, we expected nothing more than good conversation and maybe a new friend.

Life, however, had much bigger plans.

Looking back, it's remarkable that we didn't meet sooner. Our families had known each other for years. Robert knew Racquel's sister. We grew up in the same community, living parallel lives without ever realizing how closely connected our worlds already were.

Somehow, despite all those shared circles, we remained strangers. It almost feels as though life kept us just one introduction apart until the timing was right.

On St. Patrick's Day, Racquel spotted Robert across a crowded pub. He stopped to say hello to her sister but never realized she was there. In that brief moment, she remembers thinking, how handsome, grounded, and quietly confident he was, he left an impression without ever knowing it.

A few days later, Robert left for work for two months. Under normal circumstances, neither of us would have spent that long chatting online before meeting. But something kept us talking. We allowed ourselves to build a connection before we ever sat across from each other.

When we finally met at The Dock, conversation came effortlessly. We laughed, talked for hours, and left knowing we'd found someone that matters. By our third date, we took a chance on a four-day getaway to a secluded cabin.

Somewhere around a campfire, during long conversations and shared silences, everything changed. We discovered what we'd both been missing without even knowing it. We found someone who made us feel completely accepted—someone we could laugh with, challenge, respect, and simply be ourselves around.

What we love most about each other is surprisingly difficult to explain because it isn't just one quality. It's the way we fit.

We balance one another in all the best ways. We communicate openly, respect each other's differences, and somehow make even ordinary days feel like adventures. We laugh every single day, whether we're exploring another country, camping under the stars, paddleboarding, taking long drives, or doing absolutely nothing at all.

We admire each other for different reasons. One of us found a rare kind of man—strong without needing to prove it, gentle without ever being weak, equally comfortable crawling under a vehicle as he is having an honest conversation about his feelings. The other found someone intelligent, passionate, supportive, and full of life, who makes him feel appreciated, accepted, and loved exactly as he is.

Together, we've discovered that love isn't about finding someone who's just like you. It's about finding someone whose strengths complement your own, whose heart feels like home, and who somehow makes you feel both completely accepted and inspired to become an even better version of yourself.

Our love of adventure eventually took us to Morocco, where Robert surprised Racquel with a proposal during a sunrise hot air balloon ride. Racquel said "yes" before he could even finish asking.

It's impossible not to notice the invisible thread that had been weaving through our lives all along. Long before Facebook Dating, before St. Patrick's Day, before our first date, our stories had already begun to intertwine.

We truly believe the best love stories are worth waiting for.
